Seville City Marathon is a marathon that takes place in the streets of Seville since 1985. It is organized by the Municipal Sports Institute of the City of Seville and is sponsored by private companies and public institutions. Since its inception, the test has increased its number of participants in each edition. The XXV edition, held on February 22, 2009 together with Spain Marathon Championships, had a record participation with 4,000 runners.
The marathon route runs through a street circuit in the city of Seville with a statutory length of 42,195 meters, approved by the Association of International and Road Races (AIMS) and the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA). It has the necessary requirements under the regulation such as refreshment points every 5 km, with water, isotonic drinks and solid foods; water stations and sponges equidistant between the refreshment points; medical assistance, health care points every 5 km, ambulances queued career and medical clinic in the Olympic Stadium.
