The B&E Burnie Ten is a premier 10km road race providing everyone with the opportunity to participate with the nation’s elite athletes. It’s flat, fast, out-and –back runner-friendly course attracts about 3000 competitors from all over Tasmania.
A race like the B&E Burnie Ten cannot thrive without the eager participation of the public, a passionate and loyal group of supporting businesses, a small army of keen volunteers and the guidance and governance of an enthusiastic and knowledgeable committee.
The B&E Burnie Ten introduced three race starts in 2015. The Paraquad Tasmania Elite Wheelchair 10km Road Race started at 11am. The B&E Burnie Ten started at 11:15am and the B&E Burnie Ten 5 kilometre race started at 11:35am.
Paraquad Tasmania Elite Wheelchair 10km Road Race exists as a stand-alone separate race. It is the aim of this committee to accommodate reasonable expectations of these athletes whilst providing the safest and enjoyable experiences for all competitors.
The introduction of a 5km race may offer better experiences for those with a sole motivation to just participate and enjoy the day… with a shorter distance allowing them to complete their race earlier even with a later start.
Whether your aim is to achieve a certain time or just complete the distance the B&E Burnie Ten 10km and 5km races are perfect events to set your sights on.
