The Big Five Marathon sports one of the World’s most unique marathon courses, taking runners through the wild savannahs of South Africa. The race gets its name from the Big 5 famous animals of Africa, which runners will hopefully see during their run. A race so tough, that a participant called it “harder than Comrades”, the arduous 88km race in South Africa. The sun can be brutal in the open savannahs and there is quite a bit of elevation gain between the start and finish of the marathon.
